Managing Dental Disease with a Chronic Disease Management  Mindset

 

In the evolving field of minimally invasive dentistry, and in a medical management mindset, effective biofilm and caries management are increasingly recognized as important. This session will explore cutting-edge approaches and technologies for the management of dental diseases. This session will advocate for integrating a holistic view of disease as a multifactorial disease, rather than a mere localized issue. The session will delve into advanced diagnostic/assessment tools that enhance the precision of disease management. This presentation aims to equip dental professionals with innovative techniques to effective manage dental caries as a chronic disease.

 

In this course attendees will:

  • Discuss the “Lexicon of Caries” for proper understanding of terminology and nomenclature. 

  • Discover current trends in comprehensive biofilm and caries management approaches by integrating a medical mindset beyond the current prevention mindset, thus enabling providers to design and apply tailored preventive and therapeutic strategies that exceed current standards of care.

  • Identify and evaluate advanced diagnostic technologies, like biochemical markers, visual optical aids, and artificial intelligence, to better understand their application in a dental setting.

  • Explore interdisciplinary strategies for enhanced patient care to improve outcomes and optimize treatment plans.
